How does scoring work for MLB squares?

The standard approach uses the last digit of each team's runs, hits, and errors combined (R+H+E), not runs alone. Average runs per team in a given game are low, usually only 3 to 4, so a raw-runs board bunches most winning squares onto a handful of low digits. Adding hits and errors spreads the total across a much wider range, which gives every square a fairer shot and keeps you watching the defensive side of the game too, not just who's crossing the plate.

Do you track scores automatically, or do I mark winners myself?

Yes, we track MLB scores and determine winners automatically, the same as our NFL and NBA boards. If you want to run something outside the standard R+H+E format, like a single-stat side board or another non-standard scoring setup, our custom scoring mode is available for boards like that.

Can I run one board for a whole series or a stretch of the season?

Yes. Instead of creating a new board for every single game, you can run one board that covers a full series or a run of games, with payouts along the way for each one.

What board size works best for MLB squares, and does baseball's lower scoring change anything?

The classic 10x10 grid is still the most common and the easiest for players to recognize. Baseball's low run totals are exactly why the standard R+H+E format exists: runs alone would bunch most games onto a handful of low digits, but folding in hits and errors spreads the numbers out across a full season. Squares are always handed out before any numbers are assigned either way, so nobody can pick a "good" number ahead of time. A smaller 5x5 or 4-square grid works fine too for a smaller group.

What happens if an MLB game goes to extra innings?

Baseball doesn't end in a tie, so if the score is level after nine innings, the teams keep playing extra innings until somebody wins. If your board pays a last prize on the finished game's score, that number simply lands after however many innings it takes. Some hosts add a bonus prize for the score at the end of the 9th inning as well as the true final score.

Is this a gambling site?
